Events & Teaching Runs FAQ

This FAQ explains what is allowed, what is not allowed, and why, so everyone understands how our platform works and how we protect players, creators, and the Destiny 2 community.

1. Are paid carries allowed on this platform?

No. Paid carries are strictly prohibited.

This includes:

  • Paying for raid, dungeon, GM, Trials, or PvP clears
  • Paying for guaranteed loot, triumphs, titles, or ranks
  • Paying for “silent runs” where one or two players complete content for others
  • Any run where payment is tied to success or completion

Any player found offering or participating in paid carries will be permanently banned from the platform.

This rule exists to:

  • Comply with Bungie’s Terms of Service
  • Protect players from account risk
  • Maintain a fair and healthy community

2. What is a “paid teaching run”?

A paid teaching run is a learning experience, not a guarantee of success.

In a teaching run:

  • Instructors explain mechanics and strategies
  • Learners are expected to actively participate
  • Mistakes and wipes are normal and acceptable
  • Completion is never guaranteed
  • Payment is for instruction and time, not for a clear

If a run can be completed without learners engaging, communicating, or understanding mechanics, it is not a teaching run and will be treated as a carry.

3. Can I pay to get loot, triumphs, or clears?

No. Never.

You cannot pay for:

  • Guaranteed clears
  • Guaranteed loot drops
  • Triumphs, seals, titles, or ranks
  • Faster completion
  • “One and done” runs

If payment is linked to progress or rewards, it violates our rules and Bungie’s policies.

4. Are donations allowed?

Limited and carefully controlled — and never required.

Donations:

  • Are optional
  • Must be post-event only
  • Must not be requested, hinted at, or expected
  • Must not affect how runs are organized or prioritized

Any attempt to pressure players into donating — directly or indirectly — will result in enforcement action.

We do not allow:

  • “Tips appreciated” messages before runs
  • Suggested donation amounts
  • Preferential treatment for donors
  • “Donation-only” teaching sessions

5. Why are donations restricted if Bungie allows content monetization?

Because in practice, “donations” can easily become disguised payments for carries, which puts:

  • Players’ accounts at risk
  • Instructors at risk
  • The entire platform at risk

Our rules are intentionally stricter than the minimum to protect everyone involved.

6. Can instructors make money on this platform?

Yes — but only through teaching and education.

Instructors may be compensated for:

  • Their time
  • Their preparation
  • Their explanations and coaching
  • Their educational expertise

They are not compensated for:

  • Clears
  • Speed
  • Loot
  • Success rates

This distinction is critical for Bungie compliance and community trust.

7. Can instructors play on someone else’s account?

Absolutely not.

Account sharing, recoveries, or playing on another player’s account:

  • Violates Bungie’s Terms of Service
  • Risks permanent bans
  • Is strictly forbidden on this platform

We will never ask for — and will never allow — account credentials.

8. Can I advertise paid Destiny services here?

Only approved educational services may be listed.

You may not advertise:

  • Paid carries
  • Boosting services
  • “Guaranteed clear” runs
  • Account recovery services

Attempting to bypass these rules (for example, by rewording carries as “help”) will result in removal and bans.

9. How do you tell the difference between a carry and a teaching run?

We look at behavior, not wording.

Signals of a carry include:

  • Minimal or no explanations
  • One or two players doing all mechanics
  • Learners being told to “just stay alive”
  • Runs marketed around speed or completion
  • Consistently high success with no instruction

Signals of teaching include:

  • Clear explanations before encounters
  • Learners assigned mechanics
  • Time spent answering questions
  • Willingness to wipe and retry
  • Focus on understanding, not rushing

10. What happens if someone breaks these rules?

Depending on severity:

  • Event cancellation
  • Removal of listings
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent platform ban

Serious or repeated violations may also be reported to Bungie where appropriate.

11. Why are these rules so strict?

Because:

  • Bungie actively enforces against paid carries and boosting
  • The Destiny community strongly opposes pay-to-win behavior
  • We want a platform that survives long-term, not one that burns out fast

These rules protect:

  • Players
  • Instructors
  • The Destiny ecosystem
  • The platform itself

12. Is this platform affiliated with Bungie?

No.

We are a third-party community platform and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Bungie.

All Destiny trademarks and content belong to Bungie.

13. If I’m unsure whether something is allowed, what should I do?

Ask before hosting or joining the event.

If something feels like:

“I’m paying and getting a clear”

Then it’s probably not allowed.

When in doubt, choose learning over completion.

Bottom line (TL;DR)

  • ❌ Paid carries are not allowed
  • ❌ Guaranteed clears are not allowed
  • ❌ Paying for loot or progress is not allowed
  • ✅ Paid teaching and coaching is allowed
  • ✅ Learning, participation, and failure are expected
  • ✅ Optional, post-event donations only

Our goal is simple:
Teach. Don’t carry. Learn. Don’t buy progress.

Scrims Platform FAQ

This FAQ explains what is Scrims platform, which features are available, why it exists etc so everyone understands how our platform works and how we protect players and creators on our platform.

What is Scrims

Scrims is a calendar app with ticketing system for guests management and events discovery. We built Scrims for gaming events primarily but you can use it for any events you like.

Can I charge for events

Yes, payments are a built in feature of Scrims powered via Stripe. You can host paid events and members can signup to these events via various allowed payment methods. Once the event ends you can payout your earnings via Stripe connect.

What is the platform service charge

For Scrims the platform fee is set to 30% per all event earnings with zero hidden charges. We charge a platform fee because we offer many scheduling and management features for free.

What is Scrims credit balance

Scrims credit balance is your in-app wallet funds that can used for purchasing tickets for events, subscribing to calendars, or upgrading your profile. Scrims credit can be topped via Stripe recurring payments, Stripe one-time payments, or Wise direct bank transfer (which saves on service fees). Although Scrims credit is not refundable you can payout Scrims income which is earned through running paid events.

How ticketing system works

After creating an event you can use a ticketing template or create your tickets. upon signup, each guest is assigned one or more tickets that they purchase. These tickets are available in the guest account with a QR code that can be used at the venue if needed.

Can I embed Scrims calendar on my own site

Yes! You can embed Scrims on your own site using an embed link provided when you setup your calendar. Once this embed is added to your site header, a calendar icon will be shown on the bottom right (how it is shown on this webpage) and clicking it will show your events calendar. Note: You can also embed the calendar permanently.

This 100% improves your guest signup experience specially if they have a Scrims account.

Can I host tournaments

Yes, most of the features in scrims are third party plugins and there is a plugin for creating tournament bracket, to then allow people to signup to the seeds as individuals or teams, paid seats are also possible, winner prize can also be preset, and you can also get sponsors to signup to your tournaments [read more]

Which games are supported

You can host any games you like by creating custom signup templates for that game. Out of the box we support D&D, MTG and WoW templates and we're adding more official templates by your suggestions. Our events discovery system is also optimized for these games for now

Which integrations are supported

Integrations in scrims are open source and can be developed by external developers, which means more integrations are added everyday. Here are some integrations that we like and offer first class support for: Google calendar, Discord, Facebook, Youtube, SLACK, Twitch, OpenAI (auto scheduler), OpenAI (prompt based scheduling)
